The election results have strenghthened the hand of CIR supporters in Congress. We believe that Sen. Menendez and Rep. I applied for my green card almost six years back (EB3 Jan 2003) and working with the same employer for more than 7 years on H1B. My 140 was approved in 2007 September. Recently I got a new job with pretty similar title and job descripiton. The job is in a different state . Here is my question...
Is it better to use my EAD (which is valid until October 2010) or do a H1B transfer? In case my current employer withdraw the 140 application ,whether that cause any issues?
Do I need to go back to my current employer once I get my green card?
Is it possible to go back to H1B once I start using EAD?
Appreciate quick responses.....

Is there any way to link buying house and green card?
I know EB5 is to invest $500,000 to get a green card.
How about to invest $500,000 buying a house in US and get a green card? Say 100,000 green card for that, that would help the current US economy a lot.
I thought that that $500,000 (actually $1M unless the investment is in underprivileged areas) has to be personal funds, not loans. I do not think that there are many with personal funds close to that. Most people buy home with loans.

After a long 5 years I finally received 485 case approved letter for both my case and my spouse's case. However the online status still shows pending. Is this common?. How long would it take for the online case status to be updated.

I showed my 485 Receipt notice as evidence and renewed my licence. You don't have to always produce EAD (then every 2 year you have to renew the licence).
If your 485 is pending for long, You can contact USCIS over phone and create service request. USCIS will send you a letter saying that your case is pending because of so and so reason. You can take that along with you, if the BMV is asking why your 485 is pending for long.
Which DMV did you go to? My wife and son's H4's are expiring on June 4th and have pending I 485 since July 2007. They are not renewing the DL's based on the pending receipt of I 485 which they claim to be too old and need a new one.. Tried contacting USCIS but could not get through.. Can you pls. let me know which DMV did you go? How old is your pending I 485 and did you have to get a letter from USCIS? If yes, then how did u reach them and if you have any phone number for them..

If employer or attorney are not helpful then there are high chances that they are hiding something, may have communicated to you I-140 approved in EB-2 whereas in real EB-3. One of my friend already have experinced same problem, EB-3 instead of EB-2. His company is in Jersey and the name starts with N.
Another reason why employer is hiding (or don't want to share) suspecting that you can leave him.
Be careful and try some way (as suggested above) to know about your I-140. All the best.

just wanted to confirm one thing again ..does this mean we should definitely be getting our EAD's ?? also I would urge all members to be active with IV ..till we get citizenships and even after that ..spread the word !! if we are united we can get things done ...

You can either look into 'Part2 (Petition Type)' what is applied for when you file, OR you can look 'Classification' under "FOR CIS USE ONLY', where the CIS officer will approve what you checked in 'Petition Type'...

I have just joined this forum and collected my D70 last night. Used for the first time tonight took about 200 photo's with my SB-80DX flash.
I had to use camera on A or S priority with flash set on Auto. Quite a backward step after TTL metering with the F100.
The only Nikon flashes which provide full interaction with the D70 are the SB-800 & SB-600. Only these provide auto zoom head function, ISO from camera and TTL metering.
