Hi All,
I am finishing my PHD and wanted to know if anyone knows about the process of applying for an H-1b and/or GC for this particular category of health professionals.

As of May 14, 2010, USCIS had received 19,000 cases against the regular H-1B cap and 8,100 cases against the Master's degree cap.
USCIS provides regular updates on the processing of FY2011 H-1B petitions. I would apply for the renewal EAD now. Are you using the EAD to work ? Normally if the EAD is not approved after 90 day wait, then one can get a temp EAD form the local office. Give yourself some time, just in case something gets dealyed.

I had FP done way back in October 07..but there is no status change LUD on I-485..what to do??.:confused:..Do I take an appointment to talk to an officer or simply call USCIS ..

so. But since your 140 is approved the PD is yours. You have to find new employer, start from Labor process again.

My wife is planning to attend for a H4 Visa Re stamping. I have couple of questions regarding the visa application process. Appreciate if you can help me with my questions
1) In DS156 should my answer to the Question� �Has Anyone Ever Files an Immigrant Petition on your behalf� be NO. FYI, my 140 is approved and waiting on 485 priority date. I don�t think I gave my wife�s name yet in my labor or 140 approval process
2) There is a section to be filled in VFS website called� Petition Details from 797/. I assume that principal applicant would be me. However I am not sure what to fill in the following questions
Petition Receipt #
Petition Expiration date
Petitioner Name: I assume it is my company name
Is the above info to be filled in from My 797 ( case type I129)or my wife�s 797( case type I539) Receipt #?

I had the same case. Call up the 800 number in the reciept and find options where you can change the address on the phone. The reason I tried this was because as the # is not in the system you can't even report a problem with the case.
Now when the representative is available, tell them the issue and they will connect you to someone who can verify the status for you. The next layer rep will ask your name and address for verification and tell you the status.

Hi,
I got an LUD on my I140 on 07/28/07. There is no message change though. This I-140 was approved way back in Aug 2006. I have filed my I-485 etc on June 1st 07, and its in process. Does anyone know what doesn this LUD mean.
