As the discussion of immigration bills is heating up, we have a need for a format of email (preferably culled from immigration voice home page). We need to continue the media contact blitz because many of these media folks don't know the issues pertaining the legal immigrants; in particular GC and I-485 issues.

I have already emailed this idea to 'contact us' email of immigration voice.
I have attached a sample media format, that we can work today and finalize.

In my opinion, the immigration discussion that is currently going on and scheduled to come up for discussion at the Senate on Mar 27th, 2006, should alleviate the problems faced by legal immigrants who are in the country for a number of years., persons like me. They are facing many problems in their pursit of permanent residency. This discussion should specifically address the process of naturalization and obtaining a Green Card. This and its related issues are listed below:

I agree that your suggestion is really smart, I am a QA engineer and I dont know why exactly i wouldnt qualify as EB2....ignore that for now
if i get an I40 with EB3 and move to another EB2 employer
It will result in me losing everything except my priority date
but my employer might not give me any paperwork which is required to retain my priority date which is the case for many employers
in that case I lose everything and need to start from scratch
Am I right?..please correct if not.....What is the nature of paperwork required to retain the priority date?

Hi,

I have applied for Canadian PR (AINP) and would like to know after getting canadian PR,will it possible for H4 and H1 person to work for Canada based company by staying in US or not?

I think I am not impacting US labor or anything. I will be working for Canadian company from US. I will be getting Salary / Tax deduction in Canada.

The fact you work for a Canadian firm and you're a Canadian resident holder (or a Citizen) is irrelevant. As a full time employee in the United States, you require a work visa - and shall be subject to H1 or other work visa codes. I'm Canadian, and work for a Canadian firm's operations in the US. I require a TN or H1 work visa to work in the US. Hope that clarifies.

I didn't find what I am looking for.

I already have a lawyer and the ONLY reason I want to file myself is because I am fed up in chasing lawyers, my company etc. They don't respond in time and anyways I am preparing all my documents my self and guiding lawyer also.

So, I am thinking to file myself.

I recently renewed my license in Oklahoma and was surprised to find out that on top of shorter expiration date, now my license has �TEMPORARY� written across it. This is new rule that OK is applying for non-residents and non-citizens. Has any body else gone thru similar experience? I am outraged that now I will be discriminated every where. DL is used on day to day basis and every body will question me, suspect me as to why �TEMPORARY� is written on my DL. Even DL office was not sure when this new rule was implemented, how come police officers, general public will know about it. I feel ashamed to even show my DL now. I�ll get hard time getting loans etc b/c people will think I may move out any time as I am here �Temporarily�

Is it only Oklahoma or other states are doing the same? See the link below from official DPS link for sample of DL.

Why dont you check with attorney and take them to court. Just getting/being angry wont help.

I got exact query.

All you need is Affidavits from you Father, Mother and any other close relative. Ask them to go to your local court house. There will be people sitting there who do prepare affidavits and notarize them. They need to do it on 10 Rupees stamp paper and get it notarized. They shall have the date of birth affidavit template at court house.

Once they have them, ask them to scan and send them to you to save time. Also ask them to DHL the originals so that you could recieve in 2 or 3days.

I have the similar situation, worrying about not getting receipt before expiration date. I called USCIS, the lady told me that as long as I filed before the expiration day, I'm okay to work. If someone else could call USCIS, get different people answer this question, and confirm this, that will be helpful.

I have problem with my lawyer too .I found out he made a mistake on my application concerning my information.my employer gave me the password so I checked my status on line.and when I asked him what gonna happen with my application .he were furious and he ask me who told you and he says thats not true.but I saw every thing with my proper eyes .any way he told me that next time if I wana talk to him I have to send him a check of 250 dollar the price of the consultation.then he can answer my question.and he told me that if he wana hurt me he can do it.I don't know what he means.and after I called my employer to tell him about the lawyer .today I foundout that the password for checking the status was changed. here's my story friends .plus my perm is pending for 127 day by now. please guys advice

As of today 8/30 nothing!
I140/I485/EAD/AP - delivered on 02JUL07 sometime around 7AM at NSC signed by R Williams.
Any ideas if it is rejected :(. :confused:

The receipt number will start either with SRC or LIN depending on whether it is Texas or Nebraska.

where do we get to read the receipt number from the back of the check ?..i see so many ppl write that they cud get the receipt number from the back of the check and with that the cud track the fate of receipt notice.The back of my cleared check has so many numbers but they are all overlapping and unreadable.Do any1 else has the same issue?
can any1 tell what is the window period b ween check clearance and recipt notice?

Before she changes her job so soon after I-485 approval. Make sure you understand the consequences of not staying with your petitioning employer.

Your intent may be questioned during Naturalization process. Talk to an attorney. I dont think people can just switch employers after 485 is approved rightaway.

But as mentioning is it good to efile or manual filing. as i said this is the case , I have moved after filing 485 my file is at NSC , for CT direct centre is VSC and many ppl have adviced to send file to NSC as my 485 is at NSC. Hence i have decided to file for Manual filing as i am new to Efiling and i dont want it to suggest this to go to VSC which will delay the case ? am i making sense?

When were your applications filed? If it was before July 30, your I-485 could be filed at either Nebraska or Texas.

My concurrent filing of I-140 and 485 was filed on August 17th, 2007.
Is it not after July 30?...that you could submit to either to Nebraska or Texas?
