The Intel powered Macs and iLife got the lion's share of the MWSF2006 keynote and iWork only got a few slides showing improvements to Keynote and Pages got so I am hoping iWork (new spreadsheet app and a very improved Pages) gets some good airtime at MWSF2007.
Right! We've all but forgotten about "Numbers" or whatever they're calling it. "Sheets?" I've forgotten what the latest name is.

The entire industry is one big Apple "fanboi", bud. What Apple does, everyone else moves to copy or get it on. My "bubble" is the entire tech industry where it concerns the average user.
What's "silly" is the Apple fansite bubble. Apple fansites on the ass-end of the net with their loveable little geek contingent perpetually out of touch with the actual market.
Step into 2011. It's all about Apple and where they're taking the industry.
It's already been proven that outside of a couple of examples, that just isn't true. You would of noticed that, but every single post that countered your fanboish assumptions, you brushed off with more rhetoric that sounded like it came from a marketing exec at Apple. What I am telling you is this, you have blinders on that completely alter your thinking on this issue. You are incapable of seeing the tech industry without apple painted glasses on.

Okay. I don't know when the keynote will update but I'll do what I usually do. Now that I already know the products, I'll go to apple.com and check the site and then watch the keynote later to see them "in action". This is what I usually do, anyway.

Oddly enough, from the education store, you can't get the extra discounts. Well at least not on the ipod...but on the government store ... YOU CAN!
I would have save an extra $30 if I went through the gvt store. OOOPS! Hopefully someone else benefits from this post and doesnt make the same mistake! I will probably call apple in the morning and see if I can get the extra savings ... but just a heads up if you are a gvt employee!

You're not. Look back a bit, for one of my posts.
Just knock out the wall between, put stalls where urinals are, and you're done.
Bonus: You now have both an entrance and an exit.

While I also have some level of disappointment over the lack of any new Mac hardware, or even a progress report on 10.5, I suspect there was a reason for it. I think the reason may very well have been to emphasize Apple's move from being just a computer and iPod maker, to a maker of high-end consumer electronic products. The iPhone (assuming that they get to keep this name) is probably just the first of these products.

Imagine holding off the urge to check apple.com / macrumors.com and stopping people short from talking about the new products for 2 days... *sighs*

I don't understand people who think the next iPhone should be called 4S (and some think 4GS, wth?)
I think the reason why Apple called the current generation iPhone 4 because it's the 4th iPhone. Just because they tacked on an 'S' at the end of 3G doesn't mean the next should be 4S.
And even if they DID call it the 4S, the iPhone after that would be iPhone 6, not 5...
Don't you agree?

Jessica Lowndes: FHM Foxy
She’s never been shy about her sex appeal, and Jessica Lowndes is featured in the new issue of FHM magazine.
The “90210” stunner shows off some serious skin as well as her fabulous form in the photo spread.
In an interview with More! magazine, Jessica confessed that she’s feeling a bit lonely and needs to find a famous man to pursue.
She explained, “I am definitely single but I don’t know. I need a celebrity crush! Any suggestions?”
In the meantime, Jessica will have to subsist on her CW action. “Yeah, I feel like Adrianna’s always kissing somebody, which is definitely fun.”

Taylor Swift Is ‘Girlfriend’ Magazine’s Cover Girl
Taylor Swift has earned herself the cover of Girlfriend’s June issue, after being voted highest in the magazine’s reader poll. For the Aussie teen publication’s “U Make The Mag” edition, fans voted the “Story Of Us” singer as their number one choice (just edging out Gossip Girl Blake Lively) for summer cover girl. If this shot of the Billboard Music Award winner looks familiar, it’s because it was taken from the retro chic shoot T-Swift did with photographer Jonathan Fenn earlier this year. I've always found it strange that the version numbers are so redundant. OS X 10.5.5 for example. I just use the roman numeral and drop the second 10. I would write OS X.5.5 for example.
They had to do that. OS X was already registered as a trademark, but thanks to the downfall of the educational system, we've got how many generations of people who don't know a Roman numeral from a Roman candle, and too many of them were reading it "Oh Ess Eks".

I realize that the discussion has gone off towards the relative merits of each format, but I'm going to go back to the original statement that Apple is going to support both...
This is non-news. Because Apple is involved in content creation (Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, etc.), they are going to support both formats so that people can author discs for HD-DVD and Blu-ray and create fancy menus, etc. It's no big leap to go from supporting authoring content targeted at both formats to supporting hardware to play and burn both formats.

And why is this on mac rumors.
Does it really matter what the competition does.
Because now they're doing this, it's only a matter of time before they turn their heads to iOS?

Fully aware of the fakes around, my beats are the early solo version (not HD). I have heard all the stories about them being fragile. I'm careful with my gear so I'm hoping I don't have a problem.
Mines are from a legit UK distributor - so I don't have to worry about fakes. I much prefer the matt finish to the Glossy HD ones.

I by chance flew from West Palm Beach to Dallas last Wednesday and what a surprise to see none other then Steve Wozniac on my plane. He had an iphone in his hand and the thing I noticed was that the shell was silver. not black or white. I doubt that he's still using a 1st gen model. So I'm guessing he may have one of these? my personal gripes/opinions:
single player:
* so far graphically it's more on the miss side comapred to bad company 2
* game design: pop up enemies and respawns in plain sight: get a grip this is 2010 calling
*frustrating check points where you respawn directly with an enemy 1 step behind you
*i like the story etc. especially some of non fighting scenes .. of which there are simply too few so far... for my taste it's simply too much nonstop shooting and too little actually tense moments
*on the negative side i can only take so many "my character lies on the ground and get's kicked/punched in the face scenes"
*also i didn't get big point being made about <20thcenturyvilliancountry> secretly having developed <plotdeviceWMD> in <lastyearofwarXYZ> when in reality they had developed other <sametypeofWMDs> even before they started the war ? also why make up artificial <WMDs> when real ones could have been easily used ?
multiplayer:
* lots of things to collect and customize .. which is great
* apart of that: average at best:
* many guns essentially worthless: shot guns having a range of 5 meters, machine guns being no more powerfull than assault rifles but way less accurate, and game being too fast paced for sniping rifles...
*knife connecting from ridiculous angles and distances: if _I_ can hit somebody else with a knife when he is standing next to me then there is something wrong
*lots of game modes of which perhaps only 1/3 is actually fun on the actual maps..which for some modes are way too small
*ridiculous bad net code : connection problems, host migrations (working in 1/4 of al lcases), random disconnects, lag, voice echoes and problems, and sound issues

Apple doesn't have much in common with the company that promised that updates. MS might have changed since their Longhorn days, but they are still much closer times wise for MS. We'll see in Vista a screw up for MS after resting on XP's success for so long, or if 7 was a fluke and MS has lost it.
I'm seeing 8 as a good OS X, but not the upgrade 7 was. Which is in part due to the mess that was Vista and the age of XP at the time of 7's launch.
While I agree with you overall, I think there have been plenty of features that NeXT-Apple has teased, but not ultimately delivered on. "Home on the iPod" is one and "resolution independence" is another, I'm sure there are more but these are two that might actually have mattered to me.

Emagic already had the security dongle in place when Apple bought Logic from them. Apple just made it white and put their logo on it.
Emagic's employees are now Apple employees.
Again with the physical example fallacy. We're talking about information here. It has no intrinsic value. This means that if I steal it, you still have it.
This, too, is a tired argument. Of course it has intrinsic value; it's called "intellectual property." My example was meant to illustrate how ridiculous it is to expect Apple to just trust people to run out and buy a Mac just because they pirated OS X, as though you'd let people drive a Lamborghini on the honor system.
When you pirate digital information, you're still stealing indirectly by depriving the author of payment. In other words, you're stealing revenues owed to them, especially if you do it off a P2P network where your shared files are distributed to others and spread the piracy. Just because computers provide a method of perfect duplication of a product doesn't magically mean you have the right to freeload it and not pay someone for their work.
I'm so tired of these sorts of Slashdot-esque positions on piracy and intellectual property.

Can somebody tell me why there was no update or price drop on ACD? Why is the PRO market left to the most critical point and then updated? Mac Pro is the best example. Its a brilliant machine now but 2 weeks ago? Some of the parts were 2 years old and they still charged the same amount of money for it. Dell, HP etc. are releasing new and updated displays whilst Apple ...........sleeps?
Quite right! I've been worried since the switch to Intel. Now that Apple is competing head to head with other PC makers, they need to update their product lines at a faster rate (ideally at the same rate as their competitors). Instead, they seem to have taken a step backwards and have decided to update less frequently, which makes little to no sense to me. AAArgh!!!!!

On IE7 I just tried to vote a post "up" and the counter incremented +2. I then tried to undo this by voting it "down" and the counter incremented +2 again. Now post #50 is at +5, when it should be at +1.
I tried a different post and the expected behavior ensued. Weird.
Edit: And now I just tried this post. I could increment up then down to get to -1, but couldn't change my vote after two instances.

Miley Cyrus Sexy Nightwear in ‘So Undercover’
Are you like me? You just can't wait four more months for the cinematic fantastic that is So Undercover, where Miley Cyrus will employ her master thespianic skills as a gritty undercover cop going deep cover in a sorority house (actually, that last part does sound pretty good). And, for the lust of all things Miley, we get a nice sneak peek at the few minutes of the film that you should run on repeat in your brain should you find yourself in a dark theater viewing this masterwork. Miley in skimpy little pajamas. I'm down with that. Enjoy.
